Dress to the Vines!

It’s a weekend of wine country fashion! Join me at Jessup Cellars in the heart of Napa Valley for Dress to the Vines, a four-day celebration of fashion, wine and perfume. I’ll be doing perfume pairings with Jessup wines and Sonoma Scent Studio fragrances. We’ll dish on the latest wine country style and talk about how Napa Valley influences fashion with industry insiders, magazine editors and stylists. If you are a wine fashionista like me, you won’t want to miss this ground-breaking event that puts style on par with wine, food and art in wine country.

On Thursday night, August 15, I’ll be part of a panel talking all things fashion and wine country. To kick off the event, I’m pairing three Jessup Cellars wines with perfumes from wine country based Sonoma Scent Studio that will highlight different aromatic notes in the wines. While wine and perfume together are usually considered taboo, we’re using perfume to build an aroma memory to help teach wine appreciation and to learn about the aromas that help you identify a particular wine varietal, and to give you a vocabulary to help you talk about what you like in a glass of wine.

The Jessup Cellars Dress to the Vines August installment of its TasteMaker Speaker Series expands to a weekend long celebration of fashion, wine, food, forum and art. The weekend kicks-off early on Thursday, August 15th with Defining Wine Country Fashion: The Who, How, When with Masters of Wine Fashion panelists Kaye Cloutman, Editor-in-Chief of GEV magazine; Karri Grant, Consulting Fashion Stylist; Mary Orlin, Huffington Post’s Wine Fashionista; and moderated by Melissa Haines of ZinLif Style. Tickets are $35 each and include the interactive fashion forum, wine tasting and fragrance pairings, meet-and-greet, and artisan cheeses and salumi.

“We hear it all the time from visitors, ‘What is wine country casual?’” says Cynthia Carey, curator and house artist at the Jessup Cellars Tasting Gallery. “Those more passionate about style want details, like what to wear for an afternoon of wine tasting, for fine dining, where to shop, what designers to follow. This is what our Dress to the Vines weekend is all about – bringing together our Masters of Wine Fashion to share their knowledge and insight in fun and interactive ways, while we all enjoy great wine, food and thematic art.”
